Mission Trip Packing List

What to Bring

Clothes

  • Plan for 2 outfits a day (one for the worksites and one for night services)
  • Ministry/work clothes — dress accordingly based on the type of ministry you are doing each day:
    • Painting/gardening/etc. — clothes you can get dirty
    • Outreach and ministry — women/girls especially, please make wise, modest decisions and dress in a way that doesn't distract from our intended ministry

  • Twin size air mattress/cot/mat & pump
  • Fitted sheet and sleeping bag/blankets
  • Personal fan if you need it

Shower Supplies

  • We'll ask that everyone showering at the church wear swimsuits since others will likely be sharing the space with you
  • Soap/shampoo
  • Towel
  • Shower sandals if you desire

Shoes

  • Closed-toed shoes are required for all work/ministry times
  • Comfortable shoes/sandals can be worn at all other times

What to Leave at Home

Clothing with Inappropriate Content

  • Anything obscene, vulgar, abusive, gang related, promotes substances that are illegal to minors (alcohol, tobacco, drugs, etc.) or discriminatory is not welcome.

Illegal Substances

  • Drugs, alcohol, tobacco, vaping, etc.
  • It's a mission trip and our host church does not allow any of that on property.

Weapons

  • Guns, knives, etc. Where and when we go will not require these :)

Anything Expensive

  • Electronics, jewelry, anything that is irreplaceable
  • Note that Enhance Ministries, our host church and ministry partners are not responsible for lost or stolen items

Too Much Cash

  • Just be smart! What you bring, make sure is safe. You should not bring much, if any, with you to your ministry sites.

We hope this helps give both practical items and some of our rationale why. We in Enhance Missions want you to be fully successful in seeing maximum Kingdom fruit through your ministry on our trips. Right-sizing everything for packing and planning will help! These policies also help ensure that while we are guests in host churches and partners with other ministries on their “turf,” we adorn the Gospel and these ministries. Something as simple as clothing won't add much of anything to Kingdom effectiveness, but it has the potential to detract from it greatly. Thank you for your understanding and alignment with everything here.
